A Note From Little Georgie
on the subject of “Fan Funding”
There are real financial costs associated with building a working audio and video studio, trying to make things of lasting value, and giving those creations a chance to thrive. Right now, The Womb Room’s / Shuffling Hungarian’s output efforts are currently funded by two “revenue” streams: 1.) personal loans, and 2.) the sweat equity donations of all the talented musicians you see combined with the efforts and talents of a support technical and services team of people you don’t.
So gear must be bought. People must be paid. Services need to be procured. That’s just harsh reality, intrusive as it may be. A video of an original song that features up to 17 musicians may appear to be a magic trick….it’s anything but, try as hard as I might to hide it.
I’ve set these platforms up to be as versatile, and adaptive as possible. Along with the merchandise available in the store and music available for download, every penny raised will go toward paying off debt and help to defray start up costs, sustain operating costs (like paying the light bill), procuring better gear and tools (To be able to make more, and better recordings and videos), paying honorariums to musicians, securing and paying for the needed services of independent contractors, and the manufacture and distribution of physical product (Vinyl, and Cd’s)…. and hopefully amassing a bit of tour support in the future to take this circus out on the road.
This type of support can take many forms: from buying merchandise, to single tips (Venmo, Paypal, Buy Me A Cup Of Coffee), to more subscription based, fan partnership-tiered donation plans (Buy Me A Cup Of Coffee, Patreon) that are designed for a wide range of budgets.
As the Temptations have said so eloquently in the past, I “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg”. Or at least rattle my digital tin cup in your general direction.
I humbly thank you for any help that you may want to lend to the cause of making Shuffling Hungarians music, both now and in the future.
Sincerely,
Georgie
